BUYING PRACTICES AND PERFORMANCE OF SUPPLIERS – EVALUATION IN A PRIVATE HOSPITAL AT CAMPOS DOS GOYTACAZES/RJ

Procurement practices adopted by the institution of health and performance of contracted suppliers are factors that directly influence the supply. Procurement practices that combine quality, speed, low prices and hiring well-qualified suppliers are goals to be achieved.
Objectives: Analyze purchasing practices adopted in a private hospital, using as indicators the number of requests generated by request of shopping, the generation time of application and the percentage of requested items actually purchased. Analyze the performance of suppliers, using as indicators the delivery time, the percentage of items actually delivered by each type of supplier, the number of items delivered correctly detected nonconformities and deliveries.
Methods: For measurement of indicators to be studied, each solicitation to buy emitted by the Pharmacy
was monitored and analyzed, using Microsoft Excell worksheets. The nonconformities in receiving were measured using the information recorded on the appropriate form.
Results: The total time of the purchasing process of requests per month was 12 to 30 days for material and 10 to 31 days for drugs. Were purchased 93% of the requested materials and 79.4% of medications required. Distributors of materials delivered 74.7% and 86.98% of medicines. Industries delivered 100% of the items.
Conclusion: The purchasing practices currently adopted is creating difficulties for the pharmacy, for
effective inventory control and replenishment and needs to be reevaluated.
